RE Registration Page

Registration is now open through July 31, 2024.  Classes will begin on August 27 & 28.

All students must re-register each year, including those who have completed the first year of sacramental preparation classes. We offer catechetical instruction and sacramental preparation for all students from kindergarten through high school. Students who are on track for Fall 2024 Confirmation MUST register and pay tuition-- your tuition fee pays for the classroom materials for the classes until Confirmation, the retreat fee, and the Confirmation Robe. Fall 2024 Confirmation students will attend weekly classes on Tuesdays until Confirmation on November 19.

Why should we register if it's not a sacramental year?  Receiving the sacraments is a very important part of your child's religious journey, but the years in between First Communion and Confirmation are just as important. Just as children would struggle with math if they completed second-grade math and did not take another math class until sixth grade, the middle years of religious education give the children a stronger knowledge of the practices and reasons for the faith. Help them strengthen their faith throughout childhood by registering them every year!

RE Class Session Options

*Special sessions:

  • Family Faith Formation: Students in grades K-5 may choose the Family Faith Formation Option with one class monthly with a catechist and three home lessons per month led by the parent.
  • SPRED: Students with special learning needs that cannot be met in a typical religious education classroom may choose the Special Religious Development (SPRED) Option, which meets two Saturday mornings a month.
  • If interested in these programs, please get in touch with the Director of Religious Education.

Why change from Sunday-Monday classes to Tuesday-Wednesday classes? Increased contact hours for instruction. We honor the Fairfax County Schools calendar and avoid major holidays and three-and-four-day weekends due to teacher workdays or other reasons. In 2024-2025, we would only be able to have 24 class days on our calendar from late August to mid-May, while Tuesday- Wednesday classes allow us to have 30 class days on our calendar.

There will be a mandatory parent information meeting in August covering communications, disciplinary rules, and attendance expectations. Parents must attend a parent info session prior to their student attending classes. The dates will be publicized in June.
WHY? All parents must be engaged and aware of the procedures and expectations of our program.

The Parent Religious Education Program will transition to Trinity House Groups, a bi-monthly program of family formation. We will not have monthly parent classes like last year.
WHY?  Trinity House Groups provide a fun evening of family fellowship, parent formation, and student activities designed to bring Heaven to your Home!
