OUTLINE FOR FAMILY MASS LEARNING SUNDAYS 2026-27 

Purpose: The purpose of Family Mass Learning Sundays is to provide both students and parents in the Religious Education program an opportunity to intentionally learn about prayer once a month during the school year.

Last year, the six-part series was focused on The Mass. If you are interested in resources, feel free to contact the Religious Education Team.

This year, the six-part series will focus on a specific element of Prayer with a focus to help families have the tools to pray together.

These sessions will be in addition to regularly scheduled Religious Education classes.

Dates for this School Year: September 19-20 (DATE CHANGE), October 3/4, November 7/8, January 9/10, February 6/7, March 6/7, April 11 (special session for First Communion students and Families).

Structure: Families will meet one Mass per month in September, October, November, January, February, and March, with a special session in April for Spring 2027 First Communion students and families.

Religious Education families will attend the 5pm Saturday Vigil Mass or 7am, 9am, 11am, 1pm or 5pm Mass on the specific Sunday. Beginning at five minutes past the end of Mass, a 15-20 minute catechesis focusing on the Topic of the Day will be given by the priest or a catechist.

Attendance will be tracked, with families checking in with Religious Education staff prior to the Mass. Makeup assignments will be given to all families who fail to attend the Mass Learning Sunday.
