FAITH FORMATION

Living the Liturgical Year:

Happy 4th week of Easter! Today, April 26, we celebrate another feast of the Blessed Virgin, the Feast Day of Our Lady of Good Counsel.  According to tradition, the painting of Our Lady known holding the child Jesus as "Madonna del Buon Consiglio" appeared at the church of Santa Maria in Genazzano, Italy. Pilgrims who had gathered at the church for the feast of St. Mark, had heard music and saw a cloud descending from the sky and coming to rest on an unfinished wall of the church suspended in air. There are miracles associated with the icon. The title reflects Mary's role as a wise mother who offers guidance and counsel to humanity.  Celebrate the feast day with a Marian feast, you can find recipe suggestions here: https://www.catholicicing.com/food-for-blessed-virgin-mary/

Plan to join us on Sunday, April 26 following the 9am Mass for our last Sunday Donut Social until fall. Parents, enjoy coffee and fellowship while your children make liturgical themed crafts with our volunteers!

Mark your calendars! The First Communion Mass will be held on Saturday, May 15 at 5pm or Sunday, May 16 at 9 am or 11 am. If you would like a particular Mass, please contact the Religious Education team by April 30.

Registration will open in June for next year. Continue your child's growth in the faith by signing them up for classes in 2026-27! Our class sessions will be on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, and we will again offer our Special Religious Development class on Saturday mornings for students with special learning needs and our Family Faith Formation classes once a month on Sunday afternoons (for grades K-5) where parents take a larger role in their child's faith formation. Registration information will be in the parish bulletin, on the website, and will be sent via Flocknote to all currently registered children in the first week of June. Who should register? All currently registered students, including all Confirmation 2026, Confirmation 2027, and students preparing to receive First Eucharist next school year. Classes will begin on September 1 & 2. Questions about your child's registration? Call the Religious Education Office or contact the staff via email.
